One team took the elevator way up and another took it way down in the power rankings this week. A special shoutout goes to Venice's senior Brandon Gregory, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Pinellas Park got a 64 - 0 win over Osceola last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Derek Bryant. Bryant rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Bryant as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.

It was a battle of top-notch squads when Lakeland (10th in the MaxPreps state rankings) took on Apopka (24th) last week. Lakeland earned a pretty comfortable 37 - 20 victory over Apopka. One star in particular for Lakeland was junior Demarkcus Bowman, who ran for 169 yards and also punched in two touchdowns.
Movin on Up
Zephyrhills not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Lake Gibson in every quarter. Zephyrhills enjoyed a cozy 28 - 13 win over Lake Gibson. Zephyrhills's defense outmaneuvered the Lake Gibson offensive line and got to the QB for six sacks. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by ten, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
Palmetto and Riverview went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (77) among all power ranked teams. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Palmetto beat Riverview 42 - 35. Palmetto saw its record improve to 2-1 and its power rank jump four places as a result.
