The Todd County Falcons put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 50-0 win over Standing Rock at home. The result was nothing new for Todd County, who have now won six contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Ty Valandra continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 207 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. Valandra was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Cayde Valandra, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns.
Todd County's win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Flandreau Indian and 2-8 Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 41.3% over those games). As for Standing Rock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
Todd County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Standing Rock will head out on the road to face off against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte/Tiospaye Topa on Tuesday.
