El Campo has gone 7-2 against Bay City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ricebirds will host the Blackcats at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in El Campo's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last five games.
El Campo is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Floresville: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Ricebirds blew the Tigers/Jaguars out of the water with a 49-7 final score. The Ricebirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

El Campo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Vladamir Garcia out in front who rushed for 139 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Garcia's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 123 rushing yards. Another back making a difference was Derrick Hines, who rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: El Campo was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 272 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bay City entered their contest against La Vernia on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Blackcats fell just short of the Bears by a score of 25-22. While the Blackcats had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Bears 7-0.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Keimarion Wiggins and COOPER NULL. NULL had a great game and rushed for 112 yards and a pair of scores. Meanwhile, Wiggins did his best for the losing side, throwing for 142 yards and three TDs.
El Campo pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.3 points over those games. As for Bay City, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. El Campo has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 288.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bay City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 183.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
El Campo came up short against Bay City in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 26-20. Will the Ricebirds have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
