Last Friday, things could have been worse for Jefferson, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-39 loss to Hooks. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jefferson in their matchups with Hooks: they've now lost four in a row.
Elysian Fields has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Pewitt with a sharp 65-44 victory on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elysian Fields.
Elysian Fields got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nunu Kennedy out in front who scored 12 points along with eight assists and four steals. Kennedy is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Dravian Rather, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Jefferson's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-4. As for Elysian Fields, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Jefferson took their victory against Elysian Fields in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 58-35. Will Jefferson repeat their success, or does Elysian Fields have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
