The Lewis Academy Watchmen's's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They strolled past McKenzie with points to spare, taking the game 47-29. That's another feather in the cap for Lewis Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
McKenzie's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rhys Hamlow, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Salomon Acevedo, who scored five points.
The victory got Lewis Academy back to even at 6-6. As for McKenzie, their loss was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Lewis Academy will take on Willamette Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Willamette Valley Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. McKenzie and Eddyville will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Eddyville is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
