Red Bank Catholic entered their tilt with Colts Neck on Monday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars  an   8-0 shutout. Considering the Caseys have won seven games by more than five  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to  Lily Hagan's shutout, as she gave up just seven  hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Grace Lombardi and  Brianna Santangelo did most of the damage at the plate:  Lombardi  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base, while  Santangelo  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. Lombardi is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last five games she's  played.  Nicole Knox was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  double.
Red Bank Catholic's win was  their sixth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 11-1. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Colts Neck, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Red Bank Catholic is set to  challenge  their familiar foe St. John-Vianney  at 3:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Caseys 1.9, the Lancers 1.2) so any  runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Colts Neck will  face off against  rival Middletown North  at 3:45  p.m.  on Wednesday.
