The Griffin Bears entered their tilt with the Spalding Jaguars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Griffin snuck past the Jaguars with a 54-50 victory on Saturday. That's another feather in the cap for Griffin, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Griffin found their leader in underclassman Naima Foster, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zamiyah Hosley, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Griffin has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Spalding, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10.
Griffin will take on the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Howard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 413th, while the Bears are ranked 125th). Spalding does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
