With a playoff game on the line, the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 42-35. Winning may never get old, but Lafayette Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Lafayette Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalen Noel out in front who rushed for 281 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Noel also notched 25+ carries for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Jujuan Johnson, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Lafayette Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Teurlings Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.
Lafayette Christian Academy will face off against St. Thomas More at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Thomas More knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matches -- so hopefully Lafayette Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Teurlings Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
