Haysville Campus is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Hutchinson is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Haysville Campus Colts will be home for the holidays to greet the Hutchinson Salthawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Haysville Campus was able to grind out a solid win over Maize, taking the game 68-60. Given Haysville Campus' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Maize is ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Andrell Burton, Jr, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Haysville Campus' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaason Thomas, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Hutchinson earned a 62-50 win over Goddard on Friday.
Haysville Campus' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Hutchinson, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-0.
Haysville Campus came up short against Hutchinson in their previous matchup back in February, falling 79-67. Can Haysville Campus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
