Basketball Recap: Gaston Day Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

After losing to Kings Mountain the last time they met, Gaston Day decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Gaston Day Spartans came out on top against the Kings Mountain Mountaineers by a score of 66-59 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans who have now won four matches in a row.

Gaston Day got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylen Todd out in front who posted 18 points. That's the most points Todd has posted since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was Deshawn Coulter, who earned 15 points.

Despite the loss, Kings Mountain still got an impressive performance from J'Myun Huskey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Huskey is now averaging an impressive 8.8 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kee'Donn Linney, who put up 13 points and five rebounds.

Gaston Day is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Kings Mountain, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
