There's no place like home for The ED White Commanders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 28-20 win over Ribault on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as ED White also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Darien Hookfin, who rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Pettway, who rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the defeat, Ribault saw an underclassman step up: Timothy Cole rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 215 yards and a touchdown.
ED White's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Westside and 0-9 Sandalwood (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 13.9% over those games). As for Ribault, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
ED White will head out on the road to face off against Benjamin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Benjamin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than ED White in Florida (Benjamin is ranked 31st, while ED White is ranked 167th). As for Ribault, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Baldwin at 6:30 p.m.
