Trumbull is 10-0 against McMahon since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Trumbull Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the McMahon Senators at 7:00 p.m. Trumbull has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 538 points over their last eight matchups.
Last Friday, Trumbull faced Warde in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Trumbull fell to Warde 68-64. Trumbull has not had much luck with Warde recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for McMahon, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-52 loss to Staples on Friday. While losing is never fun, McMahon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Staples is ranked 11th).
Trumbull's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-1. As for McMahon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Trumbull was able to grind out a solid win over McMahon when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 54-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trumbull since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
