The Village Christian Academy Knights will challenge the Bethel Christian Academy Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bethel Christian Academy will be up against a hot Village Christian Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Knights never let Fayetteville Christian get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Thursday.
Carson Woods made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Gooch, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Joseph Randolph, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.
Village Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Bethel Christian Academy hadn't done well against Wilson Christian Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Trojans blew past the Chargers 11-1.
Cooper Williams spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has become a key player for Bethel Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.
At the plate, Jamey Williams and Brayden Cash did most of the damage at the plate: Jamey went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Cash went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Williams is becoming a predictor of Bethel Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Donoho, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Bethel Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Village Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Village Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bethel Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Village Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Bethel Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024.
