Seymour is 0-3 against Hannibal since May of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Indians will face off against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Seymour barely beat North Greene the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians came out on top against the Spartans on Monday by a score of 11-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Indians haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Blake Schwartz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Seymour's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 6-2 (and 5-11 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Boone, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Seymour: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Seymour kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hannibal). They never let Highland get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Pirates, who have now won four contests in a row.
Patrick Arthaud was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. He has been hot recently, having posted four or more RBI the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cooper Scott, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Seymour's record is now 11-13. As for Hannibal, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seymour has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hannibal struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seymour might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Hannibal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
