The DSST: Cedar Falcons waltzed into their contest Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 47-34 victory over Fort Lupton. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory DSST: Cedar has managed all season.
DSST: Cedar was led to victory by Katelyn Fortune and Amaya Paul. Fortune scored 14 points along with four steals, while Paul scored 15 points along with six steals and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her.
Despite the loss, Fort Lupton saw an underclassman step up: Marely Gomez scored 22 points along with three steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Fort Lupton struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
DSST: Cedar's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-4. As for Fort Lupton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
DSST: Cedar will be playing at home against DSST: Montview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Lupton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jefferson at 12:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
