III Section IV recap November 5, 2013
Mingus added to the longest winning streak in III Section IV this week by beating Prescott, 27-3. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Marauders.
The Badgers fell to Mingus 27-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Bob Young's team's dynamic duo of Micah Nevarez and Jesse Rios proved to be unstoppable against Prescott, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nevarez threw for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns and Rios had 90 yards receiving. Zach Simmons helped Mingus' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 16 yards.
Flagstaff's Kyle Wilson and Dylan Mathews have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wilson has thrown for 1,803 yards this season, while Mathews has 21 catches for 640 yards. Kaine Bayze from Cody Collett's team leads the league in rushing with 1,350 yards.
The Marauders made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,242 from 7,027. The improvement was largely due to a 27-3 victory over the Badgers last week.
