Tevin Moore ran for two touchdowns and
Lorenzo Crosby added two as well as
Stringer (Miss.) defeated
Salem (Tylertown, Miss.) 28-14 on Saturday.
The Wildcats pulled ahead on a touchdown, and subsequently went into halftime leading 14-13. The Red Devils took the lead to win the game on a touchdown run by Crosby in the third quarter.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 49-8 win for Stringer.
The defeat comes as a step back for Salem, which notched a 26-12 victory over Resurrection Catholic in its previous outing. The loss snapped Salem's two-game winning streak. With the win the Red Devils extended their winning streak to three games.
In a 1A Region 4 game next week Stringer (3-0) takes on Hinds County Agricultural, and Salem (2-1) will go up against Lumberton also in a 1A Region 4 game.
