The Central Wildcats were the 51-45 winner over the Lawrence County Red Devils when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Central fell 61-52 to Lawrence County on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Central has lost by exactly nine points.
Zander Keepers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lawrence County, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Keepers' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Smith, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lawrence County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hatton at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Hatton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central in Alabama (Hatton is ranked 105th, while Central is ranked 322nd). As for Lawrence County, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
