After three games on the road, Palmetto is heading back home. They will take on The Manatee Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Palmetto was beaten by Venice 51-16. Palmetto was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-10.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Clayton Dees, who rushed for six yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 205 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Manatee came up short against Riverview Sarasota on Friday and fell 21-14. Manatee gained 114 more yards on the day, but it was Riverview Sarasota that made the best of use of them.
Bonshavior Bean Jr. put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Manatee, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.
Palmetto didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Manatee in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 26-21 win. Will Palmetto repeat their success, or does Manatee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
