The Oakcrest Chargers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 53-47 W over Calvary Temple. That's another feather in the cap for Oakcrest, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Oakcrest was led to victory by Catherine Dunch and Kate Newsome. Dunch scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Newsome scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Dunch scored 15 or more points.
The win got Oakcrest back to even at 9-9. As for Calvary Temple, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Oakcrest will head out on the road to square off against Foxcroft at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Oakcrest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Calvary Temple, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fairfax HomeSchool at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
