The Lesterville Bearcats had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down St. Paul Lutheran 48-29 on Tuesday. For Lesterville, this counts as revenge for the 64-53 defeat St. Paul Lutheran walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Despite the loss, St. Paul Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Mia Sherrill, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 blocks. Sherrill scored a full 37.9% of St. Paul Lutheran's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Lesterville's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lesterville will take on Alton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
