Harrison Central extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-6. They lost 13-4 to the Gulfport Admirals. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Admirals this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-0 defeat on Friday.
Harrison Central handed starting duties to Dillon Suddeth, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched.
At the plate, MJ Conner made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Player #42, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
As for Gulfport, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games.
On Gulfport's side, Thomas Stennis tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. Stennis has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brant Rounsaville, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Bash Plummer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Harrison Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 loss against Ocean Springs on the 3rd. As for Gulfport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-5 defeat against Pearl River Central on the 5th.
