The Midland Trail Patriots stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Pocahontas County 75-42 at home. The victory was nothing new for Midland Trail as they're now sitting on three straight.
Eli Campbell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Bailes, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Silas Beezley, who scored six points along with three steals. Matthew S mcquain was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Midland Trail pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Pocahontas County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Midland Trail will be playing at home against the Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Hoover is ranked 31st, while the Patriots are ranked 37th). As for Pocahontas County, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Bath County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.1 points per game this season.
