The Middle College Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the West Adams Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Middle College took their game at home with ease, bagging a 58-29 victory over Animo South Los Angeles.
Middle College's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ugonna Njoku, who scored 11 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Njoku has scored all season. Lebron Hasan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, West Adams had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 67-44 margin over Jefferson.
Middle College's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for West Adams, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-16.
Middle College and West Adams were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, but Middle College came up empty-handed after a 39-38 defeat. Can Middle College avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
