The West Branch Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Woodridge Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Branch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 440 points over their last nine games.
West Branch stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 49-0 victory over Salem. 49 seems to be a good number for West Branch as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Boston Mulinix, who rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Mulinix is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Jackson, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Woodridge was the victim of a rough 35-14 loss at the hands of Field on Friday.
West Branch's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Minerva and 0-10 Howland (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 40% over those games). As for Woodridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
West Branch took their victory against Woodridge when the teams last played back in August by a conclusive 34-13. Will West Branch repeat their success, or does Woodridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
