This season hasn't been kind to the CrossPointe Christian Academy Cavaliers, who are still winless after their seventh match. The New Year welcomed they with a 80-42 whooping from Lafayette Christian on Thursday.
Lafayette Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Zapata, who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Zapata has scored at least 25% of Lafayette Christian's points. Bruno Tellez was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
CrossPointe Christian Academy bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lafayette Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. CrossPointe Christian Academy will take on Central Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
