After a string of three wins, the Plainfield South Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Naperville North. The matchup was a 32-32 toss-up at halftime, but Plainfield South was outscored by Naperville North in the second.
Despite the loss, Plainfield South still got an impressive performance from Jazlynn Foster, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foster has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Demi Page, who scored nine points along with three steals and two blocks.
Naperville North got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Frempong out in front who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Frempong has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Ava Podkasik was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Plainfield South's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Naperville North, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Plainfield South will head out on the road to take on Joliet Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Joliet Central is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Naperville North, they will be playing at home against Conant at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
