The Rootstown Rovers will be playing at home against the Mineral Ridge Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rootstown never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Southeast last Friday. They blew past the Pirates 43-7 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-7.
Among those leading the charge was Dawson Morgan, who rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.0 yards per carry.
Mineral Ridge fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 35-6 victory over Jackson-Milton. Mineral Ridge pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Jackson-Milton cut but never quite recovered from.
Ian Erb went supernova for Mineral Ridge, rushing for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 42 receiving yards.
Their wins bumped Rootstown to 9-1 and Mineral Ridge to 7-4.
