Conway Springs has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Garden Plain Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Conway Springs came up short against the Eagles and fell 50-42.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Melissa Ebenkamp, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below three steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Koester, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Conway Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Garden Plain's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 41-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cheney. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garden Plain in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.
Conway Springs' loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Garden Plain, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Conway Springs ended up a good deal behind the Owls when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 41-23. Can Conway Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
