On Thursday, Far Northeast W came up short against Denver West and fell 55-45. While losing is never fun, Far Northeast W can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Denver West is ranked 104th).
The losing side was boosted by Steve Griffin, who scored 12 points along with five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Julian Griffin-Cobbs was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
George Washington posted their biggest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Thomas Jefferson with a sharp 67-46 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win George Washington has posted against Thomas Jefferson since February 5, 2018.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead George Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oscar Stecklein, who scored 22 points along with nine blocks and eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Stecklein scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Trimm, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists.
Far Northeast W bumped their record down to 0-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for George Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.
