The Rising Sun Tigers put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over Patterson Mill. Given Rising Sun's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Patterson Mill is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rising Sun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allison Stoudt, who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Stoudt is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Lynch, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Patterson Mill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kiley Wilhelm. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. sophia trinh was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Rising Sun's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Patterson Mill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Rising Sun will head out on the road to face off against Havre de Grace at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Havre de Grace focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday. Patterson Mill will be home for the holidays to greet Overlea at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
