Football Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Northwestern's Winning Streak

Northwestern dropped down to 3-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 42-28 bruising from the Maconaquah Braves. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Tigers couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Northwestern still got an impressive performance from Bradyn Wilson, who picked up 101 receiving yards and one TD.

As for Maconaquah, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.5 points this season.

It was another big night for Marcell Sims, who rushed for 187 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 85 receiving yards and one score. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 13 rushing touchdowns on the season. Nolan Tarrh did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 119 receiving yards.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Northwestern is set to square off against their familiar foe Wabash at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Maconaquah will challenge rival Lewis Cass at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Sims and Gavin Smith.
