After a string of four wins, Howe's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were outmatched by the Pottsboro Cardinals and fell 78-51. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 911th, while the Cardinals are ranked 262nd).

Howe's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Pottsboro, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howe will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gunter at 12:30 p.m. on December 31st. Pottsboro also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against S & S Consolidated at 2:15 p.m. on December 31st. Pottsboro is facing S & S Consolidated at the right time seeing as S & S Consolidated is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
