Softball Recap: North Moore Wins Going Away Against Eastern Randolph

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montgomery Central, North Moore was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Eastern Randolph Wildcats with a sharp 16-6 win. Considering the Mustangs have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lyla Nelson was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025. Harleigh Carlyle was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

North Moore hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

North Moore's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Eastern Randolph, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Looking ahead, North Moore will square off against Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastern Randolph, they will face off against Jordan-Matthews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
