The Baldwin Bruins will head out to face off against the Lynbrook Owls at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Baldwin put up the most runs they have all season last Saturday. Everything went their way against Freeport as they made off with a 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Liv Pascual looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She also put up a walk, which was her first of the season.

At the plate, Akua Bonsu was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Culbreath, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Baldwin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Lynbrook got the win against North Shore on Monday by a conclusive 12-1. The Owls haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Bianca Lobosco was incredible, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Emma Mylan was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
The victory made it two in a row for Baldwin and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Lynbrook, their record now sits at 6-3.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Baldwin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .563. However, it's not like Lynbrook struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Baldwin couldn't quite finish off Lynbrook in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
