Baseball Recap: Calvert Beats Danbury for Their Fourth Straight Win

Calvert entered their tilt with Danbury on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Lakers. Considering the Senecas have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Calvert saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Kidwell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. Those three hits gave Kidwell a new career-high.

Calvert hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive games.

Calvert's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Danbury, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Calvert will challenge St. Joseph Central Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Senecas are facing the Crimson Streaks at the right time seeing as the Crimson Streaks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Danbury, they will take on Gibsonburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Lakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
