Bishop Brady took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Belmont, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Giants won by a run and slipped past the Red Raiders 5-4. This was payback for the Giants, who suffered a 13-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Payton Bryson and Maryn Sherman did most of the damage at the plate: Bryson scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Sherman scored a run while going 2-for-2. That run was Sherman's first of the season. Kimble Rose was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Bishop Brady now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Belmont, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bishop Brady will square off against rival Gilford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Belmont is set to challenge their familiar foe Kearsarge at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
