Greenwood Christian Academy is 0-4 against Edinburgh since May of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Cougars will welcome the Lancers at 5:30 p.m. Greenwood Christian Academy has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kaylee Edgar was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.
In other batting news, Sarai Gabrielle Robertson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Grace Kahle was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They beat the Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-4.
The team relied heavily on Gracie Barrett, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Adalynn Ramey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Edinburgh's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Greenwood Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Edinburgh struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Greenwood Christian Academy suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Edinburgh in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
