In what's become a running theme this season, the Mid-Carolina Rebels gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Abbeville 36-9 at home. The squad ran away with 28 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Mid-Carolina's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Callie Wilbanks, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of BreA Boyd, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Mid-Carolina has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Abbeville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Mid-Carolina will head out on the road to square off against Saluda at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saluda is on a four-game streak of home wins, Mid-Carolina a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Abbeville will take on Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Abbeville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
