Drexel/Miami will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Appleton City/Montrose at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Drexel/Miami had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. It was close but no cigar for Drexel/Miami as they fell 22-24 to Jasper last Friday. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Drexel/Miami was outplayed in the second half.
Meanwhile, Appleton City/Montrose were fully in charge last week, breezing past Osceola 53-0. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-0.
Appleton City/Montrose's win lifted them to 1-0 while Drexel/Miami's loss dropped them down to 0-1. Drexel/Miami's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Appleton City/Montrose defensive front that amassed 4 sacks against Osceola, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
