The Holy Cross Cougars put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 63-58 victory over Beth Haven. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Holy Cross has scored all season.
Jacob Hand continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with nine rebounds. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Michael Loftis, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Beth Haven lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Harris. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Harris. Michael Ray Stinnett was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Holy Cross' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Beth Haven, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Butler at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Butler will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Holy Cross is ranked 19th). Beth Haven will be home for the holidays to greet Lewis County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
