The Lakeside Panthers pushed their score all the way to 68 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to New Hampstead 72-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (63), Lakeside still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Lakeside still got an impressive performance from Bryce Reynierson, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reynierson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mi?keal Grissom, who scored 11 points.
Even though they lost, Lakeside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Lakeside and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for New Hampstead, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Lakeside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Grovetown at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Grovetown has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 383 points over their last six contests. New Hampstead won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Islands at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Islands will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while New Hampstead is ranked 85th).
