Lloyd Memorial hasn't had much luck against Gallatin County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Juggernauts will welcome the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lloyd Memorial's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Newport Central Catholic. The Juggernauts haven't had any issues with the Thoroughbreds recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Layla Laudick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lloyd Memorial let Railynn Brown and Mady Godsey run wild. Brown went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Godsey went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cecilia Kuhn-Stevenson, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Lloyd Memorial hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Gallatin County won against Eminence on Thursday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Wildcats didn't even let Williamstown on the board, marking the Wildcats' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.
Isabella Olivigni made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Gallatin County got a massive performance out of Daylen Florence, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Florence has snagged this season. Jaidean Branem was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lloyd Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Gallatin County, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Lloyd Memorial might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Gallatin County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Juggernauts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
