The Cass Tech Technicians will head out on the road to take on the Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Cass Tech's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between Cass Tech and Renaissance, and Cass Tech kept the tradition alive. The Technicians were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Phoenix on Monday. The Technicians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.
Chris Hooper made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Jelani Jabari was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Jordan Scott also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Cass Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Renaissance only posted an OBP of .071.
Bloomfield Hills hadn't beaten Athens on the road since April 18, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Black Hawks had just enough and edged out the Red Hawks 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Black Hawks have posted against the Red Hawks since April 18, 2022.
Bloomfield Hills also got a great performance from Rishaan Hussain as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Harst, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Drew McDermott was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Cass Tech pushed their record up to 22-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Bloomfield Hills, their record now sits at 5-14.
