Savannah Athletic Association got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Natalie Santos out in front who went 8 of 16 en route to 20 points along with five assists and four steals. Santos' evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Violet Harden, who posted 15 points along with six boards and four steals.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Saturday. They took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Andrew Jackson Academy.
Savannah Athletic Association will need focus on slowing down Lillian Lucas, one of several Patrick Henry Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She put up 12 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Lucas has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Stanley, who posted eight points.
Even though they lost, Patrick Henry Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 19 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Savannah Athletic Association pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Patrick Henry Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
