Vardaman took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Calhoun City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Vardaman got a massive performance out of Haley Parker, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Parker continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracie Chandler, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Vardaman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Vardaman's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Calhoun City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
