Litchfield has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Roxana Shells at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Litchfield pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-63 to Civic Memorial. Litchfield found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 21 to 11 on offense.
The losing side was boosted by Victor Mcgill, who scored 23 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj Odle, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Roxana unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-30 walloping at the hands of Marquette Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Roxana has suffered against Marquette Catholic since February 9, 2018.
Despite the defeat, Roxana got a solid performance out of Aidan Briggs, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Sean Maberry was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Litchfield's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Roxana, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Thursday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Litchfield have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 29.3 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Roxana, though, as they've been averaging only 24.3 rebounds per game. Given Litchfield's sizeable advantage in that area, Roxana will need to find a way to close that gap.
