Whitehall and Emmaus are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Zephyrs are taking a road trip to face off against the Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
Whitehall had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Nazareth Area put an end to it on Thursday. The Zephyrs took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Eagles. The Zephyrs haven't had much luck with the Blue Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, while Emmaus put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Bethlehem Catholic. The Hornets blew past the Golden Hawks 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Calise Eiswerth made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia DeFanti, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Morgan Schwab, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Emmaus hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.
Emmaus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Whitehall, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Whitehall came up short against Emmaus in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 4-1. Can the Zephyrs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
