The Blount Leopards will head out on the road to square off against the Saraland Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blount is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Blount suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Murphy by a score of 39-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Blount has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Saraland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Murphy. While losing is never fun, Saraland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Murphy is ranked 85th).
Blount has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Saraland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.
Blount strolled past Saraland when the teams last played last Friday by a score of 51-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blount since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
