Even though the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies have not done well against the Purvis Tornadoes recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Forrest County Agricultural came out on top against the Tornadoes by a score of 44-31. Forrest County Agricultural didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Several Tornadoes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Systren Eliza Elenus, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Eliza Elenus is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Robinson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Forrest County Agricultural's win bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Purvis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.
Forrest County Agricultural will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence County will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Purvis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
